Waterside Pubs

Start at the Angel Pub on Bermondsey Wall. There has been an inn on this site since the 15th century and there are many well known people who have said to have visited this pub such as Captain Cook and Samuel Pepys. The present building dates from the early 19th century and offers fantastic views over the city and the Thames.

Next head down to the Mayflower pub on Rotherhithe St near the site where the Pilgrim Fathers departed for America onboard the Mayflower in 1620. The pub has a jetty backing on to the river and lots of outdoor seating with lovely views. There is also a display of nautical items throughout the pub.

Head further down on Rotherhithe St to the Old Salt Quay, formerly known as the Spice Island, spread over two floors with a large outdoor area directly on the river front and a steak and seafood restaurant.

After this head inland to Greenland Dock. Pubs around the dock include the Moby Dick situated at one end, with a large outdoor seating area and the Wibbley Wobbley which is a converted floating barge moored on the dock itself.
