Start the day at Tate Modern, admiring the impressive art installation in the gallery’s Turbine Hall and then enjoy one of Tate’s temporary exhibitions. In 2008 the exhibitions planned include Duchamp, Man Ray, Picabia and Mark Rothko.

With Spanish and Italian influences. the winter menu offers venison carpaccio with celeriac remoulade; Duck leg confit with polenta and cipollini onions; toasted ciabatta with seasonal mushrooms and poached duck egg. For traditionalists, the finest Cornish haddock & chips is a favourite.
