Things to Do
A vibrant, historical district right in the heart of the capital, the London Bridge area offers world class attractions, a diverse variety of places to eat and drink, excellent hotels and memorable views.
This area is home to attractions from the well known such as Tower Bridge Exhibition, London Dungeon and the Design Museum, to the more quirky and off the beaten track like the Old Operating Theatre and Herb Garret and Winston Churchill's Britain at War Experience.
The area is fast becoming known for it's theatres with the renowned children's theatre The Unicorn Theatre opened in 2005 and Southwark Playhouse relocating to under London Bridge station in 2007.
The area has become well known for food with the redevelopment of Butler's Wharf and the opening of many Conran restaurants in the area which has lead to many speciality food shops springing up. Hays Galleria on the river is a shopping area housed in a converted dock with market stalls and many speciality shops in a scenic setting.
With the redevelopment of Potter's Field, there is now a lovely park situated right on the river with spectacular views over the Tower of London, as well as the river path stretching between Shad Thames and London Bridge for a relaxing stroll.
London Bridge is an ideal place to take children for a day out. HMS Belfast and Winston's Churchill Britain at War Experience are both fun and educational to visit while older children will love being scared at the London Bridge Experience.
