Hays Galleria
Set in the area formerly known as 'the larder of London', Hays Galleria offers an eclectic mix of shops, restaurants, bars and craft stalls. The centre of this converted wharf features a large piece of work called the Navigators, a magnificent 60ft kinetic sculpture.
Shops in the Galleria range from high street chains, Next and Boots to small independent stores such as the Christmas Shop, which is open all year round and the Riverside Bookshop. In addition to the permanent shops there are also a range of craft stalls throughout the Galleria. Open every day the stalls offer a variety for products from jewellery to paintings, ceramics to designer children's wear.
There is also a variety of restaurants and bars, where you can keep your energy up while shopping or to relax in once you are done. You can also enjoy river views out over Tower Bridge and the City.
Butlers Wharf and Shad Thames
This is an area of great history. In the nineteenth century it was one of the busiest docks in London, receiving cargoes of tea, coffee and spices from all over the world. Butlers Wharf is a gastronomic haven, home to many well known restaurants such as Butler's Wharf Chop House and Le Pont de la Tour. As a result of this many food shops have sprung up around this area including exclusive delicatessens which sell an enticing selection of food stuffs.
The Design Museum also has a wonderful shop which offers exclusive items from all the exhibitions as well as a great range of design books, products and gifts.
