Things to Do
One of London's oldest and last remaining villages, Dulwich is a tranquil and charming oasis close to the heart of the city. Home to the famous Dulwich College with its still operating toll gate, there is plenty to entertain you in this small pocket of London.
The Dulwich Picture Gallery is the oldest public art gallery in England and the building designed by Sir John Soane is a joy to visit. Nearby is also the family friendly Horniman Museum set in beautiful gardens.
Dulwich Park near the village covers a 72 acre area and is perfect for a relaxing day out. There is facilities to hire tandem bicycles or take a row on the lake. As well as sport playing fields and informal games areas, there is a large children's play area which kids will love.
Shoppers can choose between the English village feel of Dulwich Village itself, or head over to Lordship Lane home to many delicatessens and an old fashioned sweet shop. Both Dulwich Village and East Dulwich have a plethora of restaurants, cafes, pubs and bars meaning there are plenty of places to relax in at the end of the day.
