Bermondsey Antiques MarketHead down to trendy Bermondsey Street which in the last few years has suddenly sprouted design studios, bars, restaurants, galleries and small independent labels. Home to fashion designers Zandra Rhodes and Eley Kishimoto as well as another new popular label Cockfighter, this street has a fantastic atmosphere. Bermondsey is also home to the famous Bermondsey Antiques Market with over 500 traders every Friday morning.

 

Bermondsey Antiques Market

This is London's premier and most serious weekly antiques market with over 500 traders every week. The quality of goods is high and the merchandise takes in late Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian pieces, with all kinds of furniture, silver, china, glassware, ceramics and collectable items.

The market runs on Fridays from 4am to about 2pm. Bermondsey is also one of Britain's largest antique districts with knowledgeable collectors from all over Britain, America, Europe and Japan.

Bermondsey Street

Fast becoming one of London's coolest streets, Bermondsey St is home to a mixture of fashion designers, art galleries and graphic designers, as well as a mix of bars, restaurants and cafes. As well as the Fashion and Textile museum, names such as Kurt Geiger, Cock Fighter and Eley Kishimoto are all based in the area. The Delfina Studios provides space for artists in London as well as regular exhibitions and Pure and Applied are specialists in antique prints dating back to the 16th century.

Bermondsey Street's varied eateries and bars include the popular Garrison and Village East gastropubs and The Bermondsey Kitchen restaurant. Head down to this area for an interesting and cultured afternoon and evening out.
