Things To Do
It is easy to spend a day or two discovering Bankside...
Delve into the rich history of the area by visiting some of Bankside's more historical attractions such as Southwark Cathedral, the Clink Prison Museum or Shakespeare's Globe exhibition. Enjoy a snack for lunch at one of the area's restaurants, pubs or cafés followed by an afternoon of art - there are plenty of galleries to choose from but if art is not your thing, Tate Modern is worth entering just to admire the architectural immensity!
You could also start finding some unique souvenirs to take home for friends and family or enjoy a journey through the world's wine regions at Vinopolis before going for a pre-theatre meal followed by a performance at one of Bankside's theatre (just like they would have done in Elizabethan times!).
Bankside is also a great base to discover other areas of London. From Bankside you can:
- take a short stroll to neighbouring South Bank to enjoy concerts and performances galore
