Bankside After Hours

When the sun goes down, wine bars and restaurants serving different cuisine from around the world can be enjoyed throughout Bankside, along the riverwalk, in and around Borough Market and along Borough High Street and Southwark Street. But there are also some alternative too.

So whether you've finished work and are looking for somewhere to catch up with friends or colleagues or staying in London for business or leisure and you would like to make the most of your time in London, read on for a few ideas for the end of your day.

Make the most of the Tate Modern's late opening on Fridays and Saturdays, either to stroll around the permanent exhibitions for free or to visit one of Tate Modern's major exhibitions.

Vinopolis, London's unique wine tasting attraction, also stays open late on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Take a self-guided audio tour through the theatrically-staged wine-producing regions and enjoy tastings of wine, beer, whisky, gin and Champagne.

Insider Knowledge: Every 1st and 2nd Thursday of the month, Vinopolis holds cocktail and whisky masterclasses at 7pm!

On a dry evening, join the ‘Along The Thames' Pub Walk by London Walks. Meet at Blackfriars station, exit 3 for the walk that takes in London's last remaining galleried coaching inn, the finest art nouveau pub in England, an 18th-century pub that brews its own beer and London's best skyline panorama.

From April to October, you also have the choice of seeing a performance at The Globe Theatre , a faithful reconstruction of the open air playhouse designed in 1599, where Shakespeare worked and wrote most of his greatest plays.
